salutary warning
Mar. 3rd, 2008 09:50 pmWell that was a craptacular day; almost anarchic in its cr*pness.
Have a word, one I think we all need to bear in mind as we turn to our favouritevice pastime:
comstockery : Excessive opposition or censorship of supposed immorality in art or literature; prudery. This is named after one Anthony Comstock member of the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice.
He'd have a field day on lj. Sadly, he died in1915 before the worst excess of the Roaring Twenties which may well have finished him off anyway. Knees exposed; no corsets: blasphemy!!
Snow forecast; none came. Told you: crip-crop-crappy day.
Up to Question 74 already on the quiz. Sadly I got one wrong last month, a Dr Who question of all things though it was the black and white days of the 60s when I used to watch from behind the settee. Who knew he lived in Totters Lane? Hmm? Hmm? Show offs.
Does anyone know if dojo is Japanese for 'pursuit ground' or is there another name for judo and karate training rooms?
