That's not a personal burst, once is enough thank you very much. No I am going to make a cup of coffee - a ten minute job involving flasks and a carrier bag, then I'm going to put my foot up again and give you my considered opinion of the twofer we had this week from Season 4 Bones.
A Day at the Circus, a Night at the Icecapades )

I mostly made my own dinner today, although that meant having to eat it in the kitchen. And I washed up. Sue got her birthday gifts at last and she brought me some magazines and biscuits. Tired now.

Derby County currently winning 3 - 0. I'm surprised we beat them. Incidentally the bubble will burst tomorrow as Keane-o received the kiss of death Manager of the Month award. He said he'd put it in the garage as such things mean nothing to him. Such a typical comment.

It has been a very long week, what with the interminable parents evening and incompetence from the PTB. On Tuesday I left the house at 8am and returned at 8pm. Was tired. Yesterday I left the house at 8am and returned at 8.20pm. However, that was the monthly trip to Valentino's for Pollo dolcelatte. Much more enjoyable and coincidentally another anniversary. This time it was the 12th anniversary of the second brain operation to repair the hole left in my skull caused by the tumour they removed in the previous November.

This involved taking some muscle from my leg and sticking it over the hole. (Colchester have scored. Come on!) I had been leaking sinovial fluid for some time which made my forehead go all squishy with trapped fluid that would exit through my nose (possibly TMI there). In addition I turned out to be allergic to the anti-epilepsy drug I was taking which meant I got a rash and cold lower extremities. However, here I am. (Damn: Derby just got a penalty)

The bathroom is now equipped with flooring, all the tiles and a light. All done. Lovely.

e.t.a. Derby 5 Colchester 1

Had a cold. Well I've still got it but the worst is over. I had to be off work on Tuesday because I had no voice which for a teacher is basically the end. I couldn't even call school so I had to text a friend to get her to tell them when she got in.

As a result I have been nowhere and done nothing this week apart from go to school and go to bed. The children have been insufferable, downright sods. I shall be pleased when the week is over.

It snowed but it was pitiful. I despair of proper weather.

Good news. The aforementioned git Robbie Savage had his leg broken on Tuesday night. Not that I wish ill to anyone but he deserved it. Ha!

I feel a drabble coming on. Must go away and see if it comes to anything. Ta-ra.

What is with these mood swings? Probably menopause. Anyway, today's cheer me up was watching Raising Helen which I quite enjoyed and listening to The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band who I'd forgotten I enjoyed.

As for the Tooth Witch - worse than imagined. All my teeth hurt now and I did not like my slice of birthday cake this morning.

Ha ha ha ha ha! Leeds Utd have signed Tore Andre Flo. Ha ha ha ha ha! He took us down, he will do the same for them. Wipes tears from eyes. Now have to go shopping as I have no food left. Is hungry. Oh up to question 64 on Quizmail but I hit the identify these aeroplane manufacturers so I bailed until stronger.

Well feeling a bit more like and things have looked up. Sunderland won at Leicester which has been a graveyard in the past BUT jammy Mags came back for a point against Man U. There's always a little rain. Also, [info]sexymermaid has just updated Manhunter so that was cheering too.

On the downside though it's windy again. What is with this weather? I've lost telly signal twice in the last week thanks to torrential rain of the monsoon variety. Once upon a time that would have been blizzards. I want snow! Though I can wait till next week when it's back to work time. But this wind. I like it as much as I like fog. I haven't even first footed myself yet 'cos it's not fit for man nor beast out there.

I believe the term is GIP. So here's to you [info]superherofan

I was going to post yesterday, then lj went all squiffy and I can't remember what it was going to be about. Mustn't have been very important. Anyway, put the Christmas tree up today and it looks a bit off. I've got one of those glowy light thingy ones and this year it looks sort of bare in places. I'll have to wait for daylight now to see if sdjusting the branches helps. Ho hum.

Even more Christmas shopping yesterday - I thought it was finished. Managed to get mam a slip so there is something to wrap at last. Sunderland was busy and so was Asda. They even had men on directing traffic in the car park. Got my birthday cake - a rather nifty thing with lots of balloon candles on it. He he he. I nearly got the princess one with ballet shoes but decided 53 52 (forgot my age!) was a bit old for it. However, my mam was telling my dad the tale of the Superdrug debacle and she referred to me as 'the bairn'. I guess I always will be.

The Salvation Army was playing carols in Asda's entrance and I got all sniffly. I always do when brass bands play. Weird.

Sunderland got a last gasp draw at Burnley and England fell back to their useless mode by letting Australia score millions of runs. At least our lads hung on for most of today but I expect it'll all end in tears tomorrow. Some good footy this afternoon: Chelsea won and Man U lost. Good on you Curbs, though I still can't forgive you for Wembley.

Anniversary has arrived and I nearly missed it. November 1994 was a life changing month for me. I'm still here for one thing. If I had not gone to the optician when my depth of vision seemed impaired, he would not have sent me to my doctor. She would not have sent me to Newcastle General and they would not have operated to remove the non-malignant tumour that was attached like a giant spider to my olfactory nerve. I have virtually no sight in my left eye, no sense of smell and I prefer not to drive in the dark, but I would have missed

It is a precious commodity. Don't waste it in petty behaviour. Luxuriate in it because you only get one go.

Look look look! thanks to [profile] shauna233at [profile] fullofgrace2284I have a mood theme which I .... quite like.
Work was hum. Many children have sickness. One boy just managed to get out of my classroom before throwing up. What a canny lad. OMRs have to be in by WEDNESDAY. I haven't marked enough with being off. Aaargh! Halloween-a-thon does not involve pumpkin carving but does have promise of other entertainment that "You'll like" sez Joani. Hope she's right as I'm missing quiz for this though it is the last of the month so eminently missable. I have purchased a witch's nose, fake blood and a spider's web as costume and some food and wine.
Speaking of... We were 2nd last week and it was my turn for the bottle of wine which I was quite looking forward to except there wasn't any. What kind of pub is this that has no wine. I think it was deliberate.

Well I've still got a cough but it looks like back to work looms. Sigh. Still, things to look forward to like the Hallowe'en-a-thon on Tuesday, although all the pumpkins seem to have disappeared which dooms one of the frivolities before we start. Try this: Bwahahaha )
In other news
1 Gas board say heating unsafe as the soffits allow no ventilation in the roof. I can't remember the old ones doing that either. He arrived at 5.20 for his 8-1 appointment.
2 Shower man did not arrive at all until he got a flea in his ear from his boss. Came on Thursday and said job couldn't be done till late November. Hmmph. Just as well I was pooly.
3 Gasp I had no contents insurance!! zomg. I do now. What a nice man in the bank.
4 Some time this week was my 12th anniversary of the brain op but I was too poorly to celebrate. How ironic.
5 Sunderland won in the 92nd minute. Ross Wallace was so excited about scoring he took his shirt off and got sent off. But he showed the crowd what he felt any way. Good lad.
e.t.a. No my anniversary is not in October, must be delirious. The op was the same week as the Lottery started and that was November. Will check and say more on the day.
