Sandy Denny today.

I watched Shadowlands this morning. It was good, understated, British fare and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a great fan of Attenborough films, but he reined himself in. Anyway, I thought this song matched the mood. Hopkins and Hardwick seem so effortless on screen. He's a good Watson is Hardwick and Hopkins is good in everything. I also thought Debra Winger made a good fist of Joy. The Oxford Dons were suitably dotty and shut off from the real world. Later, I shall be having a Season 3 of Bones evening.

The parental phone saga continues. I am going down tomorrow to see if I can sort it out. The helpline advice consisted of unplugging the base for half an hour and taking the batteries out. I could have said that!  I can see it going back to the shop in the afternoon!

The second bud on the Amaryllis is out and looking good. The heating is on and the sun is setting. It has been quite a bright day for a change. Coffee now.

I love that song. Did you know that Richard Thompson's "Did She Jump or Was She Pushed?" is about Ms. Denny's mysterious death?

Yes. It seemed such a pointless way to die, falling down stairs. I broke an ankle. Who can say?

and? Amaryllis? I adore them!!! I'd get one except my evil cats would just eat it.

The film is about the relationship between C.S. Lewis and Joy Gresham and is beautifully observed. I like that sort of film. Anthony Hopkins is marvellous as Lewis.

I may have fixed the phone so keep fingers crossed.

The amaryllis would be really tempting to cats, I have my glass owl on guard.

It was my cookies quiz where you did comment. Of course the cookies and bathtub David may have distracted you.

I have other owls I haven't taken pictures of yet.

Petses. I would like a cat but I do not know how to look after animals. We never had them when I was growing up.
