mistletoeWindy night here and a blustery day behind us. Disappointing for the lads today. 1-1 v the Mags but they could have won! So it's looking a little bleak. 15th in the league is not brilliant so we must look for new signings in January to boost the rest.
Bones started on Sky this week so Britain is only 6 weeks behind and will soon catch up if the Writers strike continues. Frankly I hope it does. I've read elsewhere one or two petty minded comments about 'we want our shows' but as someone who feels seriously underpaid for the crap I put up with on a daily basis, I sympathise completely with people who work in an industry where others make millions off their talent. I almost feel guilty watching my boxed sets knowing the writers will get nothing from my viewing. Checkout here

We did a 1945 street party with Year 7 on Friday, it being Remembrance Day on Sunday. I was dressed as a GI. It was sad really how little the children knew about WW2, but then why should they? They probably know more about the Romans than I do. But, many couldn't even access the language of the newspaper headlines we had. 'Premier Mobbed At Palace' was a foreign language to them: didn't know the word Premier; thought mobbed meant attacked and didn't know who lived at the Palace. Eh dear. What was even more sad was that when one of them identified Churchill's famous V for Victory sign as the peace symbol, the History teacher agreed with her. I am getting too old for this shit as Riggs said and I wasn't alive when the war was on!
