mistletoeBy gum, Euro 08 is finally hotting up with cracking games involving some of the supposedly great and the good. France and Italy have so far managed paltry draws against Romania and drubbings from the Dutch who are flying. (That was Pat's joke) Player of the tournament so far is Snijder of Real Madrid. Dark horses look like the Croatians. I thought they might be and England have to play them in the World Cup qualifiers. Of course Wayne Rooney is off spending £5 million on his wedding in Portofino at the moment so he won't have seen them showing the Germans how to stick the ball in the back of the net.
In other areas, 20Twenty cricket started with a win for Durham against Derbyshire. Paul Collingwood took 5 wickets but may have been upstaged by the Derbyshire lad who took a hat trick and ended up with figures of 3 for 1. Today he led England to a tame victory against New Zealand.
