Happy birthday Chris Carter. Where are you now? I watched Californication on Thursday and boy does David Duchovny age well. I quite enjoyed the show, from the shock factor I suppose,  and how cool DD still is.

Well England got through to the Rugby World Cup Final and I have friends whos are completely arse over tip with it. It leaves me completely cold.

I like watching rugby league for the tackling and the running but there's just something that niggles me about Union. England beat Australia in the 1/4 final and yes they deserved to, but Australia scored the only try which takes far more skill than scoring penalties in my opinion and yet England got through. When they won the world cup 4 years ago they only scored two tries (I think) in the entire competition. Where's the excitement in that? Where's the running rugby? Meh. Give me Fiji fighting for survival financially and beating Ireland any day.

Just finishing off watching Argentina v. Chile. That Riquelme bloke can certainly take a free kick, two in fact, whereas England win 3 - 0 with two mis-kicks and an own goal. Pathetic. Disappointingly the Republic of Ireland had a goalless draw with Germany, the most exciting bit being a clash of heads which resulted in Schweinsteiger going off with concussion. Kilbane the Irish lad played on for the rest of the game. Made of sterner stuff obviously. That should see Staunton off as manager I hope. Useless. Meanwhile, last I saw Wales were getting stuffed 3 - 1 by CYPRUS! That should see Toshack off too. Arrogant git.
Thank God for Scotland who have had the hardest group - France, Ukraine, Italy and beaten them all. Och aye ma bonny lads.

So the only ones that lost were the cricketers, otherwise it could have been the greatest sporting day for England in living memory. Still they won the series in Sri Lanka for the first time in 20 years. See, we take on the world when we play sport.
