Being a vulture
Jun. 29th, 2007 07:55 pmAll this culture is beginning to remind me I actually enjoy the Arts. Today, Shakespeare in the park and yes it was an amateurish, bowdlerised gallop with half the plot missing but it was rattling good fun in the open air. They do it as a bit of a road show, moving round the park for various scenes. Trinculo and Stephano became Trinni and Stephie, two Geordie lasses on the razz while Ariel was a lispingly big lad who was pretty gay without trying. Nice little hour and a half. And it didn't rain although the forecast for the weekend has weather warnings with up to 50mm of rain. Why can't they do it in inches? Ironically, a 20/20 match is delayed at the moment because the sun's too bright.
e.t.a. Duh. It was The Tempest.
Paul did OK in his first captaincy. Although they lost, he got man of the match for some cracking batting. He took two wickets tonight and is now the highest international wicket taker in this form of cricket. Is proud. He's in batting now. Pietersen threw his wicket away again. Darn: Colly's just got out. Might lose this one too.
e.t.a. They didn't.
I'm enjoying the Copa America although it's on too late to watch more than the first game. Even that gets me to 2 o'clock in the morning. We've got a day off on Monday and it's not the 4th July.
