Well we're not second any more thanks to Birmingham's late equaliser in the morning match. Still, at least they didn't win.
It's been a funny day. The weather has been blowing blizzards off and on all day but none of it is lying. I got a fright when there was an almighty crash in the middle of it all, but it just turmed out to be the phone book being delivered with a thump through the letter box.
Disappointing and then sad news from the Cricket World Cup. Flintoff showed the prat he is by falling off a pedalo at 4 o'clock in the morning and having to be rescued from the sea by hotel staff. He was rightly stripped of the vice captaincy and banned for the game against Canada today which England are about to win.
The sad news was the sudden death of Bob Woolmer, a great cricketer and coach of the Pakistan team. They were beaten by Ireland of all people yesterday, thus ending their interest in the tournament, and one can only wonder what might have happened to him.
I finished the Quizmail today with a great deal of huffing and puffing to the line. Last two answers were clipstream and ferret, but it is unlikely I will have got all the answers right.
