It's over; 16 days of Olympic dreams have either come true or bitten the dust. In honour of the British 4th place finish in the medal table I offer a patriotic picspam of the winners of 19 gold medals for Britain, most of which did involve sitting down, or water, or both.

The Closing Ceremony was reasonably entertaining as the torch was passed to London's Mayor Boris Johnson. He waved the flag very nicely but then tried to put his hands in his pockets. What leader in the sight of the watching world can't put his hands at his sides like everyone else on the stage? Prat will be lapping this up with his bleached blond hair and oafish look. There'll be a Tory Government in too. The sun was shining in London at any rate.
