It's windy. Gale force trees blowing down lorries overturning windy. Fortunately here in the east we don't have the floods to go with it though poor old Appleby, an inoffensive market town famous for its horse fair, had the centre sealed off when the Eden burst its banks. Now once upon a time this would all have been snow and we'd be cursing about that because English people can't cope with snow any more and panic: buying of all food stuffs would ensue while roads become gridlocked as the one snow plough on duty struggled to clear a route. Aah memories. I was once cut off for two weeks though that was exacerbated by a council workers strike so the roads were skating rinks. I crashed my car sideways into a potato lorry, got out and fell over on the ice sustaining my only injury - a bruised coccyx.

Meanwhile.... the bathroom will be started on MONDAY!! YAAAAAY.

Went to Italian for tea today and had a very nice pollo mozzarella with chips, a glass of red wine and a latte, which they do layered, and a very nice biscotti. Got home and did this.

Now, transfer window. Keano is doing some very nifty deals I think, getting in a very promising teenager from Arsenal. He chose us ahead of Celtic. Course there are lots of Irish players at O'Sunderland now and he is an under-21 Irish international. Let's hope he can reproduce the 16 goals he scored for Falkirk in 18 games. Also, Keane's got shot of a lot of dead wood like Jon Stead - 30 games 1 goal; Chris Brown, whose dad played for the club and was there for sentimental reasons, Robbie Elliot, Rory Delap, Liam Lawrence and so on. Feels like a new broom. We'll have to see what happens against Ipswich on Saturday.

What else?
Oh yes how galling is it that David Beckham signs a £128million deal to play in America? He will be paid £50 a MINUTE. Now I don't hate Americans but some have more money than sense and they don't even know what FOOTBALL is. I work damn hard teaching children how to read, write and appreciate good literature for £90 a DAY. Where is the sense in that? And he claims he's not doing it for the money. Well neither am I but if you don't want it then send it my way Becks. Goldenballs? There's nothing golden about it (end of rant)
