I don't think it has been above freezing today. The icicles have just started to drip now when the sun came round to the front of the house. So let's build a barbecue!

An analysis of Seeley Booth - The Girl in the Gator: Look, I can't hear anything because of this insane music! )

Here! Newcastle United have just sacked their manager. I have no liking for that club, but this is shoddy and typical of the owner. Chris Hughton got them promoted as champions of the Championship back into the Premier League. They are currently 11th and as you know thrashed us 5 - 1. They've had a poor run away and with key players missing lost 3 - 1 at West Bromwich yesterday. But they are no worse than anyone else. 19 days before Christmas and you lose your job. Merry Xmas to you Mike Ashley (git)

Mother believes a foot of snow has fallen, which is more than the 5-6 inches we have here. Still, no going out in this, so I watched a couple of Bones episodes first thing and then had broth for lunch. The only thing I haven't got for lunch tomorrow is carrots. I love carrots, but it's not worth turning out and walking a mile for them. The shop will probably have none left anyway as most people are wisely leaving the car at home and walking to the local shops.

Apparently this weather is in for the next two weeks with Wednesday next week being particularly unpleasant according to the forecast. Thank you low pressure and cold stuff from Greenland and the Baltics.

After my senior moment yesterday when I posted my mother's birthday card without putting a stamp on, it was safely delivered this morning free of charge. Ha! In your face Post Office! I'm only pleased we didn't book the birthday meal on Monday as first intended. It may still be tricky for the 11th December the way it's looking. We have had a sunny day here though it looks freezing, while 25 miles away at the coast has been blizzard conditions.

Friends of my mother visited on the bus this morning to bring cards and flowers. It had taken 3 hours to get home from work yesterday. A half hour journey normally. I don't know. One snowy day and the entire country cannot cope. We have severe weather warnings, gridlocked motorways (snow out of a clear blue sky at the moment!), people unable to get to work and it's not even a foot of snow. We just aren't geared up for severe winter weather any more. Not like the good old days when people dug tunnels in the back yard snow to get to the toilet with a paraffin burner in it to stop the pipes freezing. Good times!

Shakespeare had it right

WHEN icicles hang by the wall
And Dick the shepherd blows his nail,
And Tom bears logs into the hall,
And milk comes frozen home in pail;
When blood is nipt, and ways be foul, 5
Then nightly sings the staring owl
Tu-whoo!
Tu-whit! tu-whoo! A merry note!
While greasy Joan doth keel the pot.
When all around the wind doth blow, 10
And coughing drowns the parson's saw,
And birds sit brooding in the snow,
And Marian's nose looks red and raw;
When roasted crabs hiss in the bowl—
Then nightly sings the staring owl 15
Tu-whoo!
Tu-whit! tu-whoo! A merry note!
While greasy Joan doth keel the pot.

Baby Ava is in the special care baby unit with suspected meningitis. Prayers and good thoughts much appreciated.

Today I'm looking at a specific episode, which is Judas on a Pole. On the face of it, a further piece of Brennan's life is fitted into the puzzle, but it is revealing of something else too.A Booth For All Seasons: Task force, sniper training, 70’s, duck. Got it. )

Cold grey damp day but I am feeling better after 12 hours in bed with a hot water bottle. That meant I missed the England game which is just as well as we were poor, downright shocking in fact. Poor Jordan had to be involved in that. Not his fault. In better news Benty is back training. Wonder if we can play two up against Everton on Monday? My fantasy team 206 Bones Utd. scored 55 points this week. 2nd in the league now.

Just a bit of transition for the episodes up to The Man in the Cell. I think this part is looking at what might have been; what was; what is to come.
A Booth For All Seasons: This kind of reminds me of the first time. I walked in the Desert Inn with 35 bucks in my pocket and I walked out with a cool 10 grand. The next night, I lost everything. Tapped out my ATM trying to get it back. )

Today's analysis will have a look at Booth's activities out of the office and the lab and what we can see of his personal time so far.

A Booth For All Seasons: Booth in Season 2, "It's never 'just' sex" )

I am currently ignoring Chelsea v. Sunderland because I expect the worst. 7 - 1 last season. Anything less than that is a win!
