Mar. 1st, 2008 07:37 pmPremonitions are rarely things that arrive when you really need them, but my sporting premonitions can be uncanny. Prior to the Super Bowl I remarked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if the Patriots went the whole season unbeaten and they lose the Super Bowl?' This duly happened.
When Newcastle United appointed 'Saviour' Kevin Keegan and then failed to win, I suggested that it looked like relegation form. They still haven't won and are now right in the relegation dogfight with very difficult games to come. Ha!
e.t.a. In the first half of the Spanish game I am watching I said out loud, somebody will get sent off here. In the second half two players have been sent off. Fear me.
We failed to beat the worst team in the league today. Chopra did score but the linesman incorrectly ruled it offside. Roy wasn't very pleased with the officials. Such is the way of football.
Today is another anniversary for me. After the removal of the non-malignant brain tumour in November 1994, the hole in my skull where it was eaten into did not mend and so it had to be patched with a piece of thigh muscle. Just like a bandaid really. So Happy St, David's Day to you all 'cos I'm still here to celebrate 13 years later.
Poor word this weekend: starry-gazy pie. This recipe is still readily available. It's a pie made with pilchards with the heads on so they peek out of the crust. Hmmm.
Foul weather report: gales, driving rain, earthquake, gales, chilly.
