My goodness, I've just been through two days that I would not wish on my worst enemy. So I will cut this to spare you the gory details - unless you have masochictic tendencies. Beware, there will be expletives and adult content.

Some of my colleagues at work are complete backstabbing bastards who should have their testicles removed with blunt butter knives. Daily. The way education is judged in this country is stupid and peopled by self serving dickheads who want to be seen to be earning the ridiculous salaries they are given for bringing their petty little prejudices into an educational establishment and deciding if you are good or not based on their prejudices and a 20 minute view of your lesson. OK. Shakes self. That is my spleen vented.

At the end of Day One as I reported there were 5 unsatisfactory teachers. This morning we had an extraordinary general briefing where Lynn, bless her cotton socks, basically told people to stop arsing about. One aforementioned bastard commented that he didn't care!!!!!!!! He was one of the unsatisfactory ones. Now, if the school was put into a serious weaknesses category it would call down termly inspections and extreme intervention by the Powers That Be. We have been through it before and certainly would not want to go through it again. It cost several people their health and our previous Head never really recovered. So Yvette reminded people of the consequences of failure.

As a result we were found to be satisfactory, but it was a close run thing. I hope some people have learned a lesson from this because they could have caused 100 people hardship and misery. They are wankers and I don't want to know them. Today at lunchtime, the majority of staff left the staffroom and went somewhere else. I don't blame them. They were basically sending the same message to the bastards - all men - that they need to take a long hard look at themselves.

I have a new respect for our head and Joani who did everything they could to save the day and succeeded. I have even less respect for our Deputy than I did before. He did more harm than good and should be sent on his way.
There.

Meanwhile I am pleased to say that having got up at 5.30 Wednesday morning I had downloaded Bones before I went to work so I watched it when I got in and I was very pleased with it.

First of all, Booth was back on form. It was as if they realised that the character had rather lost his edge and needed to get back to basics. And boy howdy did that happen in spades. First we were reminded that he can cut across the conventions of behaviour and just barge right through. So he did, twice, in the maze, just walking through the hay walls to find the body and then making the car open so he could find it without fighting their way back through the maze. So that reminded us that he is not stupid. The dialogue throughout this sequence was very funny especially the police officer's 'there's an electric chair?' (or whatever it was, it was funny.)

Secondly, Booth's girly scream (two) when he saw the clown in the House of a 1000 Corpses. So funny. In fact, I found all the dialogue spot on in the episode. There were so many one liners that were good, from everybody that I couldn't pick the best.

Then Booth gives good threat. Huzzah! Thank you writer I love you. Not only good threat ('I will rip out your piercings and I won't start with the face') but slapping Greg around and letting Brennan join in. Loved it.

Now the fancy dress rivalry: Catwoman v. Wonderwoman. Ha! It was so good and made even better by rushing off to the rescue dressed as Wonderwoman and a nerdy squint. Loved the fact that Bones shot him when the bullet ricocheted off her stainless steel wrist bands, loved the bickering and the snake fear, loved the fact that Booth actually solved the crime this week. Huzzah!

And he shot the baddy, who I hadn't guessed at all, so that's a first. And he was able to shoot a clown that deserved it and not just an icecream truck. I finally saw some chemistry with Bones being sympathetic about the fact he hated shooting someone and wanting him to be Clark Kent.

This is all before we even consider 'Hodgkins' and Angela's strand of the story and Zach as the back-end of a cow acknowledging Einstein's scientific credentials. There wasn't a dull moment in the whole hour and it cheered me up totally. In fact, I'm going to watch it again now.

What else? Oh yes, something annoying that became something weird that I haven't solved yet. The day before Hallowe'en in some parts of this country is known as Mischief Night where youngsters sort of Trick or Treat but it can turn malicious. 90 acts of criminal damage were carried out in one town for instance. Well, mine was the result of working on OfSted stuff. When the doorbell rang for the third time and it was after 8 o'clock, I didn't answer because I was too busy to be interrupted again. The doorbell rang and rang, the door was hammered on until eventually they went away. When I went down the next morning the doorbell had been ripped off and destroyed.

Now I have a stick on doorbell because I have plastic frames that can't be drilled so no real damage was done except I will have to buy a new doorbell. The ringer is upstairs and works with batteries. Hallowe'en night. The doorbell rings. Not thinking, I went to answer the door and there are two boys wearing Wolfman and Zombie masks. As I'm giving them some money, the doorbell kept ringing. Wolfman said to Zombie. "What's that noise?" and I said, "My doorbell" pointing out the sticky back but no actual bell to ring. "Freaky huh?" I said and wished them a good time as they made off cheerfully. But what I want to know is why did the bell start ringing when there was no way to make it start when the two boys were on the doorstep? They didn't knock and there was nothing to press. Weird.
