Yes, you can see the subtext of Daniel's and Nolan's lives beyond the plot. But I only noted that Daniel's life was what Booth's had been like and went back to the plot. I'm sure I'll have more of these "Aha, now that she mentions it, it becomes glaringly obvious" moments further along.
