Women tend to be underdiagnosed because they are socialized to be better at role-playing as children than boys, based on what certain researchers I've heard have said. The videos that this woman (http://www.youtube.com/user/whitetigerdream) has made do a good job talking about it. (I'm almost certain I have the condition, so I've been looking into it quite a bit lately)
