Not June 6th
Dec. 21st, 2008 02:32 pmHappy Yule! Stonehenge is the place to be today.
By jings (pace Oor Wullie) we were The Match on Sky's Football First last night so I saw the whole game. Step forward Steed Malbranque. His goal was a corker. Boaz Myhill got nowhere near it. Later, he laid the third goal on a plate for Kenwyne Jones to head in with some proper wing play: take the defender out by playing the ball away from him; get to the byline and cross it into the 6 yard box. Jones just had to let it hit him on the head. Djibril Cisse's injury time 4th produced a rather flattering scoreline, but it did wonders for the goal difference count which is down to -5 in just two games. Let's hope they can keep it going now they have a bit of self belief.
I've put up the Christmas tree, only to discover I can't find the plug to get the fibre optics to work. It must be buried in the spare bedroom somewhere, but it's too dark to look. I'll try again tomorrow when I also have last minute shopping to do. I think I'll go to Durham if it keeps fine. Just need slippers really, but I'll have a rootle around in Past Times for something to give Sue. I always have great difficulty thinking of something to get her for Christmas as she has everything and then I have to come up straight away with something special for her birthday in January. Still, I must be worse being three days after Christmas.
