Brrr!

First frost on the car this morning and snow expected in various places today. It is October, so I think this development is a bit early.

Otherwise, we were supposed to be on telly tomorrow night against Stoke but thanks to Harry Redknapp jumping ship and going to Tottenham, they're on instead against Arsenal. Admittedly it sounds a better game but Pah! They don't need the money and Stoke do so I think it's a bit unfair.

Sorry if these posts are hardly a thrill a minute but I'm practising for November NaBloPoMo.

Today's word is dhoze - a drink of intoxicating liquor, a bout of drinking. This might have been more appropriate yesterday as it was Dylan Thomas's birthday. However, this being an American calendar, they have gone with the fact that the 18th Amendment was passed today in 1918 and took effect in 1920. There are still some crazy drinking laws on the statute books. One for the supporters of McCain and Palin to think about: it is against the law in Fairbanks Alaska to give alcoholic beverages to a moose. Your prospective VP comes from that state. Where's McCain from?  I have other laws up my sleeve. I'll google him.

I see lj has gone with the zombie motif this Halloween. Why are Americans obsessed with this Festiva?. Don't they realise it is pagan in origin? Look up Samhain people! The irony of it all is that these people are equally obsessed with Christian ethics and fear Obamathe reaper. It beggars belief. Whoops that was a little rant there. Sorry.
