EEEeee it's Friday already! I have had a very busy week with lots happening in my little world
.
Monday - can't remember what happened so it must have been boring.
Tuesday - today at Durham University for a GCSE poetry workshop. That was lovely with plenty of information and good tips from the chief examiner lady. We had a very civilised lunch with all sorts of tasty goodies on the buffet which meant I had no room for the tiramisu gateau or fresh fruit salad. Yummy. Gave my notes to secretary at work to type up and put the 8 booklets of info in for photocopying that I haven't got back yet.

Later to the quiz where some usurpers were sitting in our seats. Is nothing sacred? Never mind; we moved to the other side of the pub and took over two tables, so my incipient claustrophobia was untroubled. Once the usurpers had left, our friends with a team of millions was able to spread too.

The jackpot was finally won - and we got a share thanks to a team effort remembering Halle Berry won the best actress Oscar between Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman. £33.30 into coffers. We also won the quiz thanks to our sad knowledge of television adverts and Gilbert & Sullivan patter songs. Dear me. Total income = £40.30. Total outlay £7.15: a very Micawber moment. Derby County won to go top.

Wednesday - a thrilling evening of CPD on behaviour management that was frankly useless. Some spleen was vented though. I got toothache which turned into a blinding headache requiring tablets. JRo kindly offers me some painkillers. Too late, I discover they are Ibuprofen. These turn me into something approaching a drunk and in extreme cases give me hallucinations. Consequently I spend 20 minutes babbling to my friends, then go home. The bathroom carpet has sparkles! (Wish I knew how to create them to show you the effect) Anyway. pain killer stops working about half an hour later so I take three Paracetamols and return to normal. Arsenal knocked out of European Champions League. Ha.
Thursday - Bitesize Theatre group came in to render the scenes on this year's Sat Shakespeare exam. Quite entertaining and the two top sets lap it up. I remain in remarkably chipper mood throughout the entire day including an hour of 9S2 who resemble Rotweilers on Thursday afternoons. Do some 1 to 1 teaching with Year 11 after school. Newcastle win 4 - 2 in UEFA Cup. Pffft!
Friday - Birmingham beat Derby County to go top. England lose to Australia. I learn Carlos 'Roadrunner' Edwards probably out for rest of season. Toothache returns. Think the fun part of the week might be over. Heavy sigh. I have started this month's quiz but it's slow going.

I am missing Bones more than I can say. Hurry up American Idol. I will be in Rome when the last episode airs at this rate. Ah ha I haven't even got my euros yet and we're going in 3 weeks time. So Rome on Good Friday eh? I hope we don't get squished by nuns.
