Is that Gilgamesh out there?

What a day! It has been raining since about 10 o'clock YESTERDAY morning. I live on some of the highest ground in Co Durham and we had to go through floods up a hill to get to the pub for our dinners. No racing on anywhere, Wales played their World Cup qualifier with the roof shut and Morpeth has been evacuated. I've not known rain like it. Here's from the BBC.

I hope you manage to stay dry.

It's starting to pour here also - the tail end of the hurricane.

12.35 am local time that's British Summer Time - the irony- and rain is still here. I see the tennis was rained out in New York too. Just when our lad Murray might have beaten Nadal. These hurricanes are a worry.

Yikes! And it's pitch dark and rainy here at mid-day because we're being clipped by what's left of a tropical storm.

Keep your powder dry!!!

*Gasp* It never got light here all day and the hurricanes aren't even over this side of the Atlantic. Our weather is coming from Scandinavia. I'm just grateful it's not cold enough for snow or we'd be buried neck deep. One month's rain has fallen in 48 hours. We're not used to this and yet severe floods keep happening. Some people can't even get insurance because they live in a high risk zone.
What a world, what a world.
