Eeep!

I now have a wide screen monitor so everything is in Cinemascope™. It makes icons look fat *pout*. I suppose I'll get used to it.

This came about because when I fired up the old pc this morning the monitor was DED. Must have expired overnight. Fortunately our local computer shop had a 17" flatscreen in so I reserved it by phone and dispatched Pat this afternoon to pick it up. And here it is.

I hope David doesn't look fat tomorrow.

Ooh congrats on the new monitor! I love widescreen.

I'm not sure what Cinemascope is, but shouldn't you be able to fix your aspect ratio in your monitor display properties? I have a widescreen monitor too (on my desktop comp) and can change the resolution so that it looks right. I can not handle a stretched picture.

Oh a cunning plan. I shall examine that option. Cinemascope was the original widescreen film of the fifties (showing age here). The first was The Robe starring Richard Burton. I suppose the equivalent would be a letter-box effect on an ordinary television.
