Heigh Ho

Well there we are back at the grindstone and yet.... I feel all cheery. At the moment I'm putting it down to my new tablets from the herb shop: Passiflora I love you. Loud children. Give them what for but chill. No palpitations, no steam coming out of the ears, just annoyance. Fancy that. Furthermore, I feel all invigorated instead of minging. This could be the new old me where life is beautiful all the time ha ha he he ho ho. Hang on.... don't want to go down that route: that way lies madness as I recall.

Maybe it's my anniversary coming up this month. 14 years of certified sanity may be wearing off. Hope so.

Not much else to say. I'm down to one picture to go on the quiz which might be Depeche Mode, might not. Who cares. Wheeeeee!

Today's word: scumber: the dung of a fox. No shit!

Today is the Feast Day of St Hubert the so called dog saint because of his affinity with hunters. The word of the day sheet goes on to give various words for mammalian excrement. I kid you not; viz. various rabbit, wolf, hare and otter poos - fuants, lesses, trettles, spraints, crotels a deer's fewmets and the badger's werdrobes. If you pronounce that right it sounds like where he would keep his clothes.

Fox dung has its own special word? Who knew?

Rev. John Boag's Imperial Lexiconc.1850, that's who. Victorians had words for everything.
