smoke signals?
Precipitation over the last week may give way to more solid white stuff from Siberia tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. 2 inches is all they are saying - a mere dusting compared to the good old days of 10 inches (ahem) and drifts 8 feet tall. Besides, we have had so little snow in recent years that nobody here knows how to drive in it anymore, panicking in a bit of slush and causing gridlock when a bit of sense would let the traffic move slowly but safely. Also, loads of people have these monster truck 4x4s that they want to play with, with scant regard to ordinary road users. They're bad enough on dry roads thinking they're tanks and everyone else should get out of their way.
Today's Forgotten English is understandably forgotten, at least it would have been in my house when I was growing up: manners-bit some food left on the plate so that the host does not feel he has underfed the guests. In my day, if you didn't eat all your dinner you didn't get pudding. What yokels we were.
Yesterday's dinner was magnificent if I do say so myself. I cooked that duck to perfection, crispy on the outside and succulent within. And there's more than enough for today's dinner.
I can hardly see the keyboard here it's so grey and gloomy outside - not even 2.30 yet!
Well I'll have to do some work at some point this week - but not today. I'm in two minds about doing my fic for
theantijoss's Angel Yay Fest over on ij as she hasn't posted for over a month. Hope Ducks is OK as her health is never very good.
thenyxie is worried too.
