Overnight move to Scotland again.

Clearly the gritter is not coming.

Mr over the road has created a new pile. Why he bothers I do not know. He's bought a new snow shoveller. My car is on the grass down the road because there was no room when I came back last night. It can stay there because the wind is blowing so it will be freezing.

Snow on the fields again. Mother Shipton, a well known (sic) prophetess from 600 years ago in Yorkshire would be proud of my predictions. Of course, she predicted the end of the world in 1881 so what did she know?

Liverpool under new management are currently losing 1 - 0 to Manchester Utd in the Cup via a dodgy penalty and captain Steven Gerrard has been sent off. Good start Kenny!

Small competition in today's post friends. Virtual cookies to the winners.

1. Which play features the quote in my subject line? Who wrote it? Who said it? Clue: I have played the role.

2. I feel like Mother Shipton. Virtual cookie to anyone who knows who she was. There I was yesterday remarking on the snow still being on the edges of the fields and what that means. This was half an hour ago:

You can sort of make out the remains of the December pile on the path on the last one if you look at the car tyre and the kerb. Well that was a surprise, yet not, because I went to the shops this morning and it was -3. Anyway, I'm watching the racing from Fontwell where it is bathed in sunshine.

3. Now then, here's a sort of a meme that's not. I made it up anyway. Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] tempertemper77 's pic-a-day and [livejournal.com profile] melissasjack 's request for some pictures of my owl collection, I took some snaps. Here are a few owls. Excuse the dust on the last two!

Snowing a blizzard now, with wind swirling it round. It's been going for two hours non-stop on top of what we already had. A gritter just went up the hill, so they're trying to keep the roads open, but the wind will put paid to that. What a good job I broke my ankle. Now I don't have to worry about digging out to get to work tomorrow.  If it keeps up, it could be at least a foot. It's certainly half way up the garden wall over the road. Heeee!

Of course, nobody's been able to call to see me today but (fingers crossed) I still have heat and light and dinner is in the oven. Of course, when I have it all planned I discover I have no baked beans. How did that happen? I always have tins of beans. I have to open a tin of peas instead. *pout*

Transfer deadline day has arrived and in keeping with our transfer policy we have signed a player on loan from Manchester City purely on his name: Tal Ben Haim. This makes up for the sale of El Hadj Diouf who had to go after a fight in the dressing room where Anton Ferdinand apparently feared for his life. Diouf was sold the next day.

Disappointingly, we are also after a West Ham player who is only called Calum Davenport. Booooring!

The transfer deadline has been extended beyond 5 o'clock in certain circumstances because of the weather. Sun still out but there have been heavy flurries such as now.

 Oh yes. Road is blocked.

Incidentally what do postmen have against knocking on the door? I was in but missed any tapping that occurred and so have to turn out tomorrow, in the snow, for a parcel that needs a signature. I was in dammit!! To add insult to injury they left a catalogue for somebody who lives at 30 Turnberry Close. I live at number 30 but not Turnberry Close. You'd think they'd have noticed.
